Plastic Surgery

Six months ago today, I had plastic surgery. Made the decision to get it done. It was scary I have to admit.

I’ve had a few surgeries in my life. Prior to this procedure none of them were elective. Pain on one side of your abdomen a couple times that makes you double over and won’t go away. You will go in for an appendectomy. Guaranteed. I did.

Shatter a collarbone a few times and it won’t heal. No problem! Titanium screws, a little bailing wire. You’re good as new.

Your shoulders keep popping out of their respective sockets and you have to gingerly place your elbow at your bellybutton then with opposite hand take your elbow and gently pull said elbow of your dangling limb across your stomach until your shoulder slips back into place with a dull thud…. If you have to do this more than a few times, it’s not elective. You go in for the surgical procedure. Never had a dislocated shoulder? I totally recommend avoiding it.???????????????????????????????????????????????

If you’ve never gone under the knife, yes, it is a little nerve wracking. I mean the anticipation..shhheezz.

This time was different. Oh sure, I was still a little apprehensive. You have to come out of anesthesia. You don’t feel very well for several days. Your sore. The medication they prescribe for pain and discomfort makes you feel sick. (I usually just throw it away. I don’t take it) It definitely takes a little while to get back on your feet.

But yes. Yes. This time it was different. The worst part about this plastic surgery was that I didn’t do it sooner. Tom Petty said it best, “♫ The waaaaiting is the hardest part…♫♫” I shouldn’t have waited. I wish I’d done it years ago. The apprehension is way worse than the pain!

It is beyond belief how much better I feel and LOOK! My old friends at restaurants, the grocery, Starbucks and retail stores do NOT recognize me.. I even have a few friends who work at Amazon.com and The Apple Store, they don’t know me either!ps

The surgeon who worked on me, he was a master. A surgeon to the stars I tell you. He was quick. Took less than 10 minutes to complete. It was really painless. He took years off my face, body and psyche’

OK, I’m not gonna lie. It did take a little getting use to at first. This, this new me. But the more I look in the mirror, the more I like what I see. I’m less inhibited. Have more confidence. More levity. I even think clearer!! Everyone should give this serious consideration. If you have this procedure you will not regret it.
