Ignorance or Arrogance?

Here’s the question: Ignorance? Or Arrogance?

Unfortunately we all run in to this issue everyday. In the true definition of the word, ignorance (lack of knowledge or understanding) is acceptable – to a point. Experiencing the pure definition of arrogance (conceit, egotism, self-assigned superiority), isn’t. Both can be maddening.

If you have conscious awareness of the fact you are ignorant of any subject and you seek knowledge, you should not feel bad. On the contrary you are to be commended. Even praised.ignore-BenF

By making the choice not to be open minded, to not seek knowledge, to absolutely ignore facts or demonize anyone who may disagree, then arrogance is your homepage.

Of course we’re all guilty of both positions along the road of life. But the person who can recognize these two obstacles, especially within him or herself, who then works to solve both sides of the coin when it presents – this – this is the person who can come out ahead. Who can lead. Who can grow.

Try to help both people if you can. Key phrase: “if you can”. Just remember, your time and your energy are not free and neither is unlimited. Master carpenters always say, “measure twice, cut once”. I think that equation is probably about right.
