Jockeys: Are you ready for CHANGE?

Clint Goodrich Blog Post 2 Comments

OK, who wants to go first? Any takers..? Anybody..?

Ty Murray said it best: “You’re never completely ready, eventually it just becomes your turn”. Well riders, it’s your turn. I do not have to tell you, the horse racing game has changed. Drastically. Not much of it has changed for the better. Until now.

Those who wrote the old rules are gone. Long gone. Certain rules and old mind-set no longer apply. In 2015 they have no application or a basis in reality.

Breaking The Mold

So let’s break’em. Not necessarily the rules.. Let’s break the mold.

I’ve heard from riders around the country regarding several major, ongoing frustrations. I’m going to address one specific and universal problem. In the next week or so, I’ll be ready to launch a new, revolutionary idea for any rider who’s interested. This will be an open invitation to ANY JOCKEY. It’s gonna save you time, aggravation and solve a long standing problem. It’s going to simplify your life. More importantly, it’s going to SAVE YOU MONEY. A lot of money.

Winning is Hard

Let me warn you straight up: being first is hard. You all know how hard it is to win, to be first at the wire. There are a million ways to get beat. One way to win. We might encounter a few problems along the way, initially. This is pretty normal. I’ll handle them. I want you to concentrate on riding. There are going to be people on the inside who will tell us we can’t do this because “blah, blah, blah…” (code for the above mentioned arcane rules). But I’m here to tell you, these are insignificant rules and mind-sets that no longer matter and no longer apply to horse racing in 2015 and beyond. These same people will no longer be able to explain why any of these rules are in place or why we can’t do this… They’ll say “just because”. That’s the first sign we can eliminate or respectfully work around them.

Horse racing has been the slowest industry in the history of the planet to embrace change. Those dwindling few who remain seated in the ivory towers are fearful. They’re scared because instead of embracing new, well thought out ideas, they feel threatened. They can’t tell you why. But it’s mostly because they’re insecure. Here’s the thing, I’m not going to threaten anyone or ask for cash or media rights. I’m not asking for anything. But my idea is going to help everyone involved. Make life easier and more streamline. Not only for jockeys but for trainers, racing officials and racing offices everywhere. We might have to be a little creative if we get push back or when an issue does arise. I can be very creative. Can you? Hint: I’ve already given a lot of thought how we can work around most obstacles.

The good news: NONE of these rules or obstacles are very difficult to over come. They are jockey specific and only technical in nature. They’re meaningless to fans, the betting public and have zero negative effect on the integrity of the sport. There is ZERO cost to any race track or the sport of horse racing. But there will be huge monetary savings to jockeys who will consider getting on board with my idea.

Keep More Money!

Keep More of YOUR Money!

Can you, rider, discard the old cliche thinking drummed in to your head and handed down by the powers that be? By the idiotic rules, real and imagined, that were once reasonable but are no longer valid in their application to jockeys in horse racing today? Technology is a wonderful thing. Today every industry in the world is a smaller and much more efficient. Efficiency has reduced costs. Any jockey who is interested in my idea should be able to take advantage of this cost savings, have a better life, a better career and keep more of their hard earned money.

I can’t wait to share this idea in greater detail – very soon.
